Do you struggle with finding a reason to smile each day?
If someone in your life upsets you, do you react in a very small way?
Does the overwhelm feel like it’s swallowing you up?
Then it’s time to change that with the seven days to happy challenge and change the narrative on those three questions.
It’s a small challenge to help you think about your day and how it interacts with your mindset.
For many years, and I mean a lot, I got out of bed, went about my day, did the usual things, went to work, did what I had to, came home, did the domestic duties including prepping meals (and I hate cooking) or caught up with friends, rinse and repeat.
We obviously can’t be truly happy 24/7, but if we can increase those happy thoughts, it can change your life! I thought I was truly happy…until one day I thought what the heck am I doing? I felt like Cameron in Ferris Buellers day off, the person who had a routine and stuck to it, no matter what; didn’t upset the status quo. Well, it was time to mix things up and be more like Ferris and Sloane. I don’t mean wagging work or skipping school type, but mixing up the routine! If you haven’t seen Ferris Buellers Day Off…it’s an 80’s classic and definitely worth a watch!
How often have you thought in recent years I do almost everything around the home. Cooking, cleaning, gardening, caring for older family members (parents, relatives) running family members to different activities, on top of having an employed role as well!
That was me. Yes, I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home Mum for ten years, but when I re-entered the workforce when my youngest was in prep, that was a rude awakening I never saw coming. Yes, my husband stepped up where he could, but the majority of domestic duties soon returned to me entirely due to his long work hours.
So, since that marriage ended and I’ve had to reinvent my life to change that narrative, I’ve found some amazing ways to help me find that smile in my day. Even if it’s something brief, I embrace and be thankful for it now. One of them being, stand in the sand at the beach, any time of the year; even in Winter!
You can too! So, for a limited time you can do this challenge for free!
