self care is important
Every day we wake up, get out of bed and do our thing. It can be a combination of things such as, caring for elderly parents, working fulltime and running a household, being an uber driver for kids to sport, appointments and parties, trying to keep the home fires burning all at the same time. But when was the last time you stopped to smell the roses? I’ve put together four simple tips that everyone should know and do every week!
These tips are important because if we don’t take self-care seriously, burnout can happen, which only causes us to be grumpy, which in reality we don’t like; well, I don’t like being a grumpy bum. I prefer to be a glass half full girl, rather than glass half empty. When was the last time you stopped and listened to the noise in your head? The below tips are ones that I do regularly.
Here they are in no particular order.
I hear you say these won’t work, I never have enough time in my day. But you do! Picking up after the dog can wait. Picking up after the family can also wait! Pre plan to two cook two nights meals in a row, so you get a night off. Folding the washing can wait for 15 minutes. Believe me, your life won’t fall apart by letting something slide. If the family niggle, explain why you need you time. It doesn’t have to be for long, it doesn’t have to cost you anything at all. You’re only limited by your imagination.
Do you want to explore even more options to change your life? Every day there is something in our lives that is bothering us, making us think there has to be more. I know I did for a very long time, until I decided it was time to make a change!
I have a free checklist that you’re welcome to have. It’s a great tool to help you go through what’s happening in your life right now. Go on… I dare you to explore the possibilities.
